🔄 Make the most of custom frequency

Goals like “drink 8 glasses of water a day” or “work out 4 times a week” can be easily managed in GoalMap.

We call these custom frequency tasks — tasks that happen multiple times a day, several times a week, or even multiple times per day on multiple days of the week.
They’re especially useful for health-related habits, such as drinking water, exercising, swimming, yoga, or taking medication.

🛠️ How to create one

It only takes a few steps:

  1. Under a goal, tap “Create Task”
  2. Set the task time to “Range”
  3. Tap “Set recurrence” and choose “Custom frequency”
  4. Pick the type of frequency you want (e.g., multiple times per day, several days a week), and you’re done 🌟

🔄 How it works

  • Set a target: For example, “8 glasses of water per day” → set daily count = 8
  • Daily check-ins: Each time you complete one, tick it off — the day’s progress will add up gradually
  • Completion rule: Finish the set number of times in a day → counts as done for the day
  • Tracking: In the task details and data view, you’ll see your daily counts and completion rate at a glance

This way, you don’t need to remember “how many glasses did I drink today” — GoalMap will keep track and remind you.

💡 Example use cases

Custom frequency tasks aren’t just for health — they can inspire many kinds of goals:

  • 💧 Health: 8 glasses of water a day, brush teeth morning & night, take medication on time
  • 🏋️ Exercise: 4 workouts a week, swim twice a week, stretch 3 times a day
  • 📚 Learning: memorize 20 words a day, write a journal 5 times a week
  • 🌱 Daily life: walk the dog twice a day, do house cleaning 3 times a week

They turn “vague habits” into clear, actionable tasks, making it easier to stick with them.

🌱 Final note

Custom frequency tasks let you plan your goals in a way that fits real life.
Whether it’s health, learning, or daily routines, flexible settings help you break goals down into small, sustainable steps.
